Inmate Search in Arkansas

Many states provide a free search for offenders within their jurisdiction through a web site designed for public use. Each state maintains its own independent website with variations in the design of the site. State laws may determine the search criteria and the information presented for public viewing.

It is important to note that the website may not work properly when using certain browsers. In fact, the web pages may partially load onto your computer screen, but integral parts may be missing. If you encounter this difficulty, you may want to consider using a computer at a public library to complete your searches. In some cases, you won’t be able to tell something isn’t quite right because the missing information is minimal.

Some databases will contain information only on inmates who are currently incarcerated, paroled, or on probation within that state. Other sites also include inmates who are deceased, escaped, released, or no longer resident in the correctional system.

To acquire access to the database for inmates in the state of Arkansas, use the following link: http://www.state.ar.us/doc/inmate_info/ .

This directs you to the Arkansas Department of Correction inmate search web page. On the top of the screen, to the left of the heading, three links are available to access information on the following: how to search this site, about ADC information, and ADC website.

Several search boxes are located on the left hand side of the screen. They include the following categories: search by DC number, search be last name, search by first name, search by gender, search by age, search by race, search by county, and search by facility. Additionally, you must select to search only inmates with photos or to search inmates without including photos. If you elect not to include the photos, then the results are generated more quickly.

On the left hand side of the screen, you must check one of the following categories that you would like to search. These options include: search all offenses, assault, drug crime, forgery/counterfeiting, fraud/embezzlement, kidnapping, manslaughter, murder, other crime, other violent crime, property crime, racketeering, robbery, sex crime, theft, and weapon offense. If you prefer a limited search, you are advised to select only one area of crime. Additionally, a live link placed to the right of these terms provides descriptions for each of the offenses.

Once you have entered your data and selected to search, your results will be generated. The results to your search are presented in a grid like chart. Variations of the names that you typed in are returned with the results. Therefore, you will also receive information of inmates whose names are similar. This is beneficial when you are unsure of the correct spelling of the inmate’s names.

At the top of the chart, a statement appears that informs the viewer of the last date that this information had been updated. Additionally, a short statement informs the viewer that a banking deposit service is now available for inmates. It explains the pertinent details for using the service.

Below this information, your results appear in a chart that includes the following headings: name, DC#, race, gender, release date, current facility, birth date, and deposit.
Each inmate’s name is a live link that portrays additional information on the inmate. I
Directly below this chart, a link to begin a new search exists.

If you click on the inmate’s name, a new page of information appears. At the top of the information, a statement is presented that indicates the date from which the information can be considered current. The inmate’s picture is presented on the left hand side of a chart that includes the following information on the right hand side: SDC number, name, race, sex, hair color, eye color, height, weight, birth date, initial receipt date, current facility, PE/TE date, and total time.

Directly below this information, several grid like charts of information are included. The sections are labeled:
o aliases and scars, marks, and tattoos
o current prison sentence history
o prior prison sentence history
o and detainers.

Once you are finished viewing this information, you may select to return to the search results using the link included at the bottom of the page.
