Inmate Search in Arizona

Searching for inmates through online websites is provided by the Department of Corrections in various states. Each state maintains its own independent website for use by the public. Variations exist in the design of the site, the search criteria, and the information presented for public viewing. State laws determine some of the information that is available.

It is important to note that the website may not work properly with certain browsers. In fact, the web pages may partially load onto your computer screen, but integral parts may be missing. If you encounter this difficulty, you may want to consider using a computer at a public library to complete your searches. In some cases, you won’t be able to tell because the missing information is minimal.

Some databases will contain information only on inmates who are currently incarcerated, paroled, or on probation within that state. Other sites also include inmates who are deceased, escaped, released, or no longer resident in the correctional system.

To acquire access to the database for inmates in the state of Arizona, use the following link: http://www.adc.state.az.us/ISearch.htm.

This directs you to the Arizona Department of Rehabilitation and Correction web page offender search page. On the top of the page, a link to the applicable restrictions for using the data obtained within this inmate search is provided. Several informative links are also available including:
• How to use the inmate data search
• Inmate access to information from ADC’s inmate data search
• Glossary of terms
• Disciplinary infractions.
• Privacy statement
• Site directory
• Family and friends of inmates liaison

Two search options exist: ADC number or last name/first initial. Additionally, you may select any of the following delineation by clicking in the circle that appears before it: male, female, active, or inactive.

Once you have entered your data and selected to search, your results will be generated. The results will portray a list of inmates that indicates the inmate’s number, full name, and date of birth. The names will be in alphabetical order. The inmate’s number is a live link that will provide additional information on the inmate selected.

If you clink on an inmate’s number, the results appear in a list that includes the following information: ADC inmate number, status, last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, sex, ethnic origin, hair color, eye color, height, weight, maximum term, admission date, agency institution, currently on supervised release, date released from custody, currently escaped/absconded, historical escaped/absconded, and date escaped/absconded.

Additionally, a number of links are provided at the top of the page to access more information on the inmate. They include the following topics: additional information, aliases, commitment information, detainer, disciplinary information, parole action, parole placement, profile classification, sentence, and work program.

Additional information will provide a photo of the inmate along with the date of last movement, custody classification, and sentence information. Aliases will provide a list of each name used by the inmate and identify it as his or her legal, commitment, or alias name. Commitment classification provides detailed information on each offense. Detainer includes the date, type, authority, and the conviction or charge number. Disciplinary information provides the date, type of infraction, and the verdict passed on the infraction.

Inmate detail is identical to the first page of results received on the inmate. Parole action includes hearing dates, parole board status, and the action taken. Parole placement will include all of the following information: the custody date, class type and date, approval date, and the date of the next review.

Profile classification includes detailed information on the following: date of the profile and the next classification review date. Moreover, it includes the risk level for public risk, institutional risk, education, vocation, work skills, alcohol/drugs, and residence. Below this information, an explanation of the factors used to determine risk is clearly identified.

Sentence information includes the following: commitment code, sentencing county, sentence status, sentence length, admission date, parole eligibility, provisional release information, work furlough, flat sentence expiration, and termination. Work program provides a list of the inmate’s work assignments with dates, hours, and rating.

If you decide to return to your search results, you will need to click the back button of your browser. Victims of a crime who would like to know the current whereabouts of the offender who committed the crime are encouraged to contact the Office of Victim Services at 602-542-1853.
